What Workampers are saying about Support Your RV Lifestyle! An Insider’s Guide to Working on the Road

Support Your RV Lifestyle! is such a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing with us. I have already used some of the information in applying for jobs, such as your answer to “What does Customer Satisfaction mean to you?” on an application. It’s an excellent resource for workampers.

~Jeanenne

"Just got your book yesterday and couldn’t put it down. I wished we’d had this book before we hit the road." Terry

If you are even half-way serious about supplementing your income while traveling...this is THE BIBLE for you. It takes you from “How do I begin” through “mistakes not to make” that ensures that you do not get low-balled on wages, conditions, etc. Provides you stories from folks who have been working on the road and then gives you 72 pages of resources where you can find employment. All in all more than 300 jobs and moneymaking opportunities.

~Joe Lacey

We thoroughly enjoyed Support Your RV Lifestyle! A tremendous amount of effort went into compiling all that great info, tips, advice and worksheets. The book was worth the wait. We are planning on hitting the road in a little over three years. We are a lot more comfortable knowing that we can still retire and have some additional income.

~Lucille and Larry

Support Your RV Lifestyle! Jaimie Hall, Pine country Publishing, 127 Rainbow Dr., #2780, Livingston, TX 77399-1027. 2002. ISBN 0-9716777-0-0. $19.95.

This is a must-have reference book for anyone wishing to work while traveling in an RV.

Over 350 pages, with 34 pages of resources plus ten appendices, this book will tell you just about everything you need to know about working on the road.

Jaimie includes little-known facts about state tax rules and differing working requirements and laws. Knowledge of these facts and using the handy access numbers and Web addresses for state departments of labor and employment will enable you to make wise decisions.

Jaimie leads you through the steps to determine the kind of work you might be suitable for and wish to do, how to find a job using the Internet, prepare a résumé and negotiate with employers.

The negotiating section is informative as there are numerous pitfalls in the casual labor marketplace, and her negotiating tactics are extremely useful.

In another section, Jaimie discusses over 300 moneymaking opportunities, from working in the tourist trade to RV businesses that can be done from your own rig.

Her final section covers the topics of reducing expenses and lifestyle issues in dealing with a successful work/travel life. Jaimie’s list of 14 mistakes working RVers can avoid is absolutely invaluable. She has been able to tap into the myriad experiences of a great number of Escapees who have worked on the road. She has included their stories in this book, including those of Janice Lasko, Escapees magazine editor, and her husband, Gabby. Janice says of this book, "If you purchase just one RV reference manual in your lifetime, this is the one to buy."

I agree enthusiastically. Already my copy of the book is liberally highlighted and tagged for its vital and pertinent information.
