Escapees RV Club
While you are fighting traffic to and from work, full-time
RVers are hauling catfish out of a Florida canal or sitting in shirt
sleeves, enjoying a desert sunset.
There is no law that says you must wait until you are 62
to retire. (Joe and Kay Peterson, founders of Escapees, started
full-timing when they were 43.) Teachers, nurses, businessmen, engineers,
tradesmen -- people from all walks of life who are in their 40s and 50s
are enjoying full-time RVing.
Even those in their 60s and 70s are far from rocking-chair
stereotypes. They hike the hills in search of rocks, bicycle to town for
groceries, and line dance their way across the country.
If you hate fighting traffic to get to a job from which
you'd really like to retire, or if you are already retired, it is time to
re-examine your goals.
It is important to know that you will not be alone out
there. The Escapees total support network will make it easy for you.
Escapees (SKPs) are a Special Kind of People who are always ready to help
each other.
S.K.P. also designates the three concepts on which the
network is built:
Service
Knowledge
Parking
If you dream of seeing new places and expanding your
circle of friends, and if living in an RV appeals to you, you should join
Escapees.
Whether you are retired or need to continue earning money,
the Escapees support network will provide the answers to a successful
escape.
Remember, real success is not measured by the possessions
we acquire, and heart attacks do not happen just to the other guy. With
the help of Escapees, there is no need to postpone your dream.
Paul and I would not travel without this support network.

the following on page 6 of the November/December 2001 issue of Escapees
magazine. This is what I believe makes the Escapees RV Club special.

Escapees Mission Remains
"To provide a complete support network for serious
RVers. We are committed to excellence. We are dedicated to providing Support,
Knowledge and Parking and will never stop striving to
improve. We are honest in everything we do."
Those
short sentences contain simple words. Read them carefully and you will see
into the very soul of the Escapees organization. There is no language
about being the biggest club. There are no exclusivity clauses. It is
short and to the point, yet it is complex and all-encompassing.
The
essence of the Escapees organization, simply put, is sharing knowledge and
providing support to those who love this lifestyle. We will continue to
ensure our network is not only complete, but that it meets the highest
quality standards possible. We have vowed to never stop trying to improve,
and we take that oath very seriously.
And while the
sentence, "We are honest in everything we do," may seem both
obvious and unneeded in a mission statement, we believe it is the core
principle that separates us from the pack. If we can't be honest in every
pursuit, every industry contact, every article we publish and every battle
we fight, then we simply won't participate.
